VeloNotte International arrives in Hamburg for its 41st edition — a curated 13-km evening bike tour uncovering the architectural and cultural rebirth of this historic Hansa city after devastating results of the World War II and British occupation. Starting in Hamm and ending in Altona, the route transforms the city into an open-air museum, revealing both iconic and hidden landmarks that shaped Hamburg's postwar identity.

Combining urban exploration, storytelling, and civic engagement — accessible to all cyclists aged 10 and up, -- the ride will revisit the 1945–1960 transformation era through immersive performances, guided commentary and original soundtrack.

Highlights include modernist works by Bernhard Hermkes, Gerhard Langmaack, and a reflection on unrealized brutalist utopias. The city's evolving architectural narrative is interwoven with its media, music and urban culture — from "Der Spiegel" originally funded by the British administration to The Beatles that made their first foreign tour & also recordings in Hamburg. Leading voices in architecture and history will contribute insight throughout the journey.
