During the fascist period, this project was commissionated for the workers of the nearby steelwork factory and it expresses the one of the first Italian experience of participate architecture. In fact, Giancarlo De Carlo with urbanists, architects, and sociologist through interviews, meetings, and exhibitions collect needs and aims of the future users. As output, he figures out 45 housing alternatives, with 15 different typologies and 3 alternative interior space for each one. The project also presents different and not crossing pedestrian and car paths and relevant service functions.
