At the beginning of the 1930s, it was common in Kaunas that, professionals from the same field would become together to invest in a building, for both practising their professions and living. The main idea behind this apartment block on A. Mickevicius 46 was not different from that custom. The owners of the building were four doctors - Stasys Zilinskas, Andrius Matulevicius, Juozas Treciokas and Antanas Garmus. Therefore, the building is known as Doctor's house among the citizens of Kaunas.

The construction of the building started in 1932, and the architect was Stasys Kudokas. For his clients, he designed a modernist building with ornaments and a symmetrical facade. The structure was planned to be built in two phases, and the first phase (the northern part) was already visible as early as March 1933. According to the plan schema, the first three floors originally had two comfortable flats with servants' rooms and a separate section for patients. The fourth floor was designed specifically for 'profit-making', with four flats for rent. However, the plan scheme changed over the years due to numerous renovations. The second half of the house could not be built because it was not allowed by the adjacent part of the old house, which was only demolished at the end of the 20th century. Today, the building is stuck between two other buildings from entirely different periods.

Today, the building is still used as a residential apartment.
