The Church of San Giovanni Battista (Italian: Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista; German: Kirche San Giovanni Battista) is located in the alpine village of Mogno in the Swiss canton of Ticino.
This extraordinary stripy church is clad inside and out in alternating bands of grey Riveo granite and white Peccia marble, both of which are native to the region. Mario Botta's structure replaced the original church, built in 1626, that was destroyed by an avalanche in the 1980s.
