In the 1930s, to modernize the work of post offices operating in the country, the Lithuanian Post Office built new and modern buildings for them. One of these was built in Sanciai, then on the outskirts of the city. The building was designed in 1934 by Klaudijus Dusauskas-Duz, the engineer of the Construction Division of the Post Office Board at the time. He also supervised the construction of this building, which was completed in 1935.

It is a three-story masonry, which has an asymmetrical composition and a rectangular plan. On the inside the rooms were functionally divided. The first floor was used for the post and telegraph office, the second floor was for the telephone exchange, and the third floor was for residential apartments. The architecture of the building is modern and rational. The first floor has wide windows for better lighting, the second and third floors are divided by paired vertical windows and smooth wall planes between them. The strict composition of the building is diversified by the slightly rounded corners of one of the sides. The rear facade is even simpler than the main - the walls are divided by vertical windows, a composition that is complemented by two small balconies.

Although this simple-looking building is not an exceptional object in the context of Kaunas' modern architecture, its exterior symbolizes the modernization processes that took place in the city in the 1930s.
