Diplomat P. Klimas’ Villa

Kaunas, Lithuania
New-Project-57-1.jpg
1 of 7

The house-villa composed of volumes of different sizes and shapes was designed by the architect F. Vizbaras for the signatory of the Act of Independence of Lithuania, diplomat and representative of Lithuania in France Petras Klimas. The house resembles a modernized renaissance castle. The main "tower" of the villa is a highlight of the architecture with the observation deck facing the beautiful panorama of Kaunas. The family of diplomat P. Klimas named this house "Eglute" after their daughter.

During the Soviet era, the house was nationalized, and seven families were moved here. The house has survived and is waiting for renovation. An authentic, wide wooden staircase balustrade has been preserved, as well as narrow wooden framed windows and balcony fences.
