The last work of noted architect Margit Pazmandi, this controversial development originally served as headquarters of the Central Command of the Workers' Militia. Although it occupies a prominent and widely visible site on a Buda hill, the buildings plans, being a highly secured state object, were not published. After 1989 it served as headquarters of the Central Command of the Police, and later as central offices for Balassi Institute.
