The Galaunes family house is a pristine example of early Lithuanian modernism. The building composed of different-sized rectangular volumes is characterized by straight-line solutions and emphasized by continuous vertical and simple corner windows. The house, characterized by sharp geometry and different volumes, looks modern and contemporary even now.

Exceptional solutions are revealed on the side staircases, which are glazed with corner glass that extends along the entire length of the wall. Although this is a relatively small detail, it is a clearly recognizable element of the architectural language of modernism.

Apartments are planned symmetrically. Each floor has five rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a toilet, connected by a corridor system. Auxiliary rooms are in the basement and in the shed. The latter also has a caretaker's apartment, which is accessed via a utility staircase.

The house has survived and preserved its authenticity. On the first floor of the building, a museum of the Galaunes family is established with personal family belongings and the interior of the old apartment. The museum/apartment has been restored in accordance with the stylistics of interwar Lithuania and the legacy of the art and Lithuanian culture pioneers - Galaunes who had lived here.
