The MDT House is a private home located within a newly developed gated community, Fazenda Boa Vista in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The whole complex features residential sections along with community facilities such as a golf course, equestrian centre and a hotel over an 1800-acre landscaped estate.
Jacobsen Arquitetura were commissioned to design this family dwelling which is comprised from three rectangular sections. These three volumes blend together to create a mix of indoor and outdoor areas, all with a surrounding patio.
The exterior is constructed from a stone wall which has been clad in thin, vertical timber battens which vary slightly in a range of natural colours.
The bedrooms face out to the pool area from behind a disguised wooden panel wall, with a corridor wedged between.
The layout of the house on the land was developed from the existing topography. Various floor and ceiling heights have been integrated throughout the programme to create the right mood for each space.
