40 years after its completion, the complex of the then Czechoslovak Embassy in Notting Hill designed by architect Jan Bocan keeps provoking emotions. When deciding to present it with the RIBA Architecture Award in 1971, the jurors felt that "unlike so many examples of precast concrete buildings, this one is a refined example of its kind, skilfully detailed technically and aesthetically".
