The villa completed in 1992 by Rem Koolhaas is situated on a hill which slopes steeply toward the Seine, the Bois de Boulogne, and the city of Paris, in the residential area of Saint Cloud. Koolhaas has designed a number of residences, including the the Villa Dall'Ava.
The client for the villa commissioned a glass house with a swimming pool on the roof, and two separate apartments - one for the parents and one for the daughter. He also wanted to have a panoramic view of Paris and the Tour Eiffel from the pool. Koolhaas conceived the house as a glass pavilion containing living and dining areas with two hovering, perpendicular apartments, shifted in opposite directions to exploit the view.
