The house of Brazil is one of 23 national houses Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris, on Brazil.
Founded in 1959, it welcomes students, profesors and Brazilian researchers who come to Paris as part of a university program, especially for doctoral or post-doctoral studies, or even Brazilian artists and professionals in advanced training.
Beyond a simple residence, Brazil House is a heritage of great architectural and cultural value. From a modern and original project of two world-renowned architects Lucio Costa and Le Corbusier, the building was registered in 1985 to French Monuments and regularly receives hundreds of visitors of all nationalities, professionals, students and enthusiasts of architecture. It was fully restored in 2000.
Le Corbusier sought a dynamic equilibrium based on the opposition of plastic masses strongly diversified and positioned without reference to any instructing grid. The residential building, private living space
is separated from the block common areas.
