Jozef Lacko was an important Slovak architect. From 1936-38 he studied architecture and structural engineering at the Technical University in Prague. He graduated in 1941. From 1941-48 he was an assistant at the institute of Structural Engineering to Emil Bellus at the Technical University in Bratislava. In 1962 he become a professor in architectural design and typology. Two years later he became deputy chairman of the Union of Architects of Czechoslovakia and president of the Association of Slovak Architects, where he remained until 1969.
