Jim Torosyan was an Armenian architect who graduated from Yerevan Polytechnic Institute in 1949. Five years later he graduated from the USSR Academy of Architecture and in 1957 became a member of the Union of Architects of Armenia. Besides being a professor, he was also a Chief Architect of Yerevan between 1971 and 1981. His works have been exhibited across the former USSR as well as at international congresses (Barcelona, Venice). Most of his architecture is scattered across Yerevan as a result of reconstruction after an earthquake in 1988. He has been awarded over ten times and has gained a Yerevan Honorary Citizenship.
