The W Barcelona, also known Hotel Vela, is a new five-star hotel building on the waterfront in the harbour area of Barcelona designed by Ricardo Bofill. It will be 100 metres high and have about 480 rooms. The hotel is part of the Starwood hotel chain. The opening of the hotel is scheduled for October 1, 2009.
