The Uzbekistan History Museum, former Lenin Museum in Tashkent, built in 1970 is a good example of how multiculturalism affected Soviet architecture. The Soviet Central Asian Republics became the true laboratory of local form, materials, and ornaments.Concrete decorative grilles used here are based on traditional Uzbek sunscreen called Panzhara. It is a rare example in Soviet architecture influenced by local culture.
