Geworg Kotschar was a Soviet architect of Armenian descent. While following Modernism during his studies, he adapted to Socialist Classicism in the 1930s-1950s. From the 1960s, he returned to a modern design language.

He realized several interesting architectural projects. In the 60s he had the chance to continue and complete some of the complexes and ensembles that he started to design and build in the late 20s. The best example to these is the summer resort for the Union of Writers in Sevan.

Kotschar studied from 1920 to 1926 at Vkhutemas in Moscow from and from 1926 to 1929 at Vkhutein (Higher Art and Technical Institute). From 1932 to 1937, he became a teacher at the Karl Marx Polytechnic Institute in Yerevan. Between 1960 and 1973 Kochar was the chief architect of the Yerevan Project Institute.

Kotschar's works include an administrative building on Nalbandian Street in Yerevan (1935), a 1,400-seat theater in Yerevan (1935). In Nori'sk he designed residential buildings, an airport terminal (1946) and an administration building (1950). Kochar also worked on the reconstruction of the A. S. Pushkin Dramatic Theater in Krasnoiarsk (1952-53). During the 1960's he built dormitories and residential buildings in Yerevan, a hospital in Dilizhan, and the summer resort for the Union of Writers in Sevan.
