ARKIS Architects
ARKIS architects is a progressive design partnership practicing architecture, design, planning and green design consultancy. ARKIS was founded in 1997, but from the firm's founding ARKIS architects have executed projects at various scales and levels of complexity, both in Iceland and internationally, for institutional, private, and civic clients.
The practice is driven by the pursuit of quality and the belief that the built environment has the inherent potential to improve the quality of our lives. Moreover, ARKIS architects are committed to green design practices.
ARKIS architects are the recipient of numerous awards and honors. Recent works include the Icelandic Institute of Natural History, Snaefellsstofa Visitor Center, the University of Reykjavik and the Smaratorg Office Tower.
ARKIS aims to be a leading force in architecture, by communicating and forming man made environments. To lead by example in ecologically concious design and planning. To increase the quality of the man made environment with progressive design. To be a creative workplace where professional ambitions and each individual's initiative can flourish.
