BICA DO SAPATORestaurant, Cafeteria and Sushi-bar

The global intervention over the warehouse allowed the creation of a set of spaces for activities of commerce, culture and leisure, formal and functionally differentiated, even if integrated into a unitary compositional structure.Throughout the intervention sought to safeguard the preservation of a certain platform environment, which is justified by the maintenance of the port activity at the site.

The public entrance is by Av. Infante D. Henrique, where the reception and cloakroom are located. This is a common area both to the restaurant and cafeteria, and its access is developed along a staircase to the rooms on the top floor, where the sushi bar is.Located near the entrance area and the bar counter, there's the fireplace, which sets the entrance into more reserved spaces of the restaurant and cafeteria. The bar counter and the cafeteria mark the front of the building and have direct access to the terrace. The restaurant room occupies the remaining front of the building, and equally communicates with the terrace.

The project seeks to establish a dialogue with the original structure, its modulation, and its materials. The location near the river suggests an articulation of images between tradition and memory, on one hand, but also the projection for distant horizons open to modernity.
