Georg Heinrichs is a German architect and city guide. His most important works arose in West Berlin in the 1960s and 1970s. As a representative of Modernism he combines the horizontal and dynamic architecture of Erich Mendelsohn with the rationality of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. His designs are characterized by a frequently sculptural appearance, partly by flexible or intelligent floor plan solutions. At the same time, the buildings have often been the object of strong criticism at their time of construction. His best-known works include the city-planning concept and the overall planning for the Markisches Viertel in the Berlin district of Reinickendorf (1962) with Werner Duttmann and Hans Christian Muller.
