FAKT is a young team of architects with the strong will to build houses, objects and ideas. Projects are approached with consideration of system, reference and precedent. It was founded in 2013 and is based in both Berlin and Zurich.

Sebastian Ernst, born in Berlin, studied architecture at TU Berlin and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ( ETH Zurich). After working for Barkow Leibinger he freelanced for several firms. He worked as student assistant at the chair of Prof. Ute Frank at TU Berlin, for Christ Gantenbein and Kees Christiaanse at ETHZ as well as being a researcher at the FutureCitiesLab in Singapore. 2013-14 he worked as professor assistant for the chair of Gramazio Kohler at ETH Zurich. 2015-16 he worked as professor assistant for G. Augustin at Uni Kassel. He currently teaches a 1st year Masters studio at DIA Dessau. In 2011 he established FAKT.

Sebastian Kern, born in Berlin, studied architecture at the TU Berlin and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ( ETH Zurich). He was able to achieve working experience by interning and working on a freelance basis for several Berlin based offices including Zanderroth Architekten. In 2012 he worked as a student assistant for the chair of Emanuel Christ and Christoph Gantenbein at ETH Zurich. In 2011 he established FAKT.

Martin Tessarz, born in Erfurt, studied architecture at the TU Berlin and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ( ETH Zurich). After work experience in several Architecture offices in Berlin, Amsterdam and Los Angeles, including Staab Architekten, Jonston Marklee and Wiel Arets Architects, he worked as a researcher at the FutureCitiesLab in Singapore. He currently teaches as professor assistant for the chair of Georg Augustin at Uni Kassel. In 2011 he established FAKT.

Jonas Tratz, born in Berlin 1988, studied Architecture at TU Berlin, at EAPLV Paris and at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne ( EPFL). His Bachelor thesis in 2010 got awarded 1st price Baunetz Award. His further studies were supported with a scholarship from Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes. Besides working as a student assistant for the Chair of Prof. Finn Geipel he also gained work experience in several offices, including Mila and LIN architectes. He currently teaches a 1st year Masters studio at DIA Dessau. In 2011 he established FAKT.
