Sergei Tchoban (born 9th October 1962 in Leningrad) is a Russian architect who has workfor more than twenty years in Germany He studied architecture in Leningrad, and worked from 1986 to 1990 as an architect in the Soviet Union. 1992 he moved to Germany and received German citizenship. He established his own office in Berlin before starting to collaborate with Sergey Kuznetsov in Moscow in 2004 where they founded SPeeCH. In addition Sergei Tchoban still run the office nps tchoban voss in Berlin.
Career
In 1995, together with Ekkehard Voss, Sergej Tchoban established the Berlin branch of the Hamburg based architecture practice nps & Partner whose origins date back to 1931. The office now called nps tchoban voss, has completed projects in Berlin which include the cinema "Kubiks", the gallery "Arndt", complex "AquaDom", a synagogue in Muenstersche Strasse as well as additional buildings and complexes across Germany.
In parallel with his work in Germany Tchoban has been actively designing in Russia since 2003. The highest building of Europe - the complex "Federation" is being built in MIBC "Moscow-City" which has been developed together with Peter P. Schweger.
In 2010 Sergey Tchoban was elected curator of Russian pavilion in XII Architecture Biennale in Venice.
