Mika Savela & Henrik Drufva

Selim is a Helsinki-based contemporary platform for editorial, curatorial, cultural, visual and spatial projects founded in 2013 by Mika Savela and Henrik Drufva. They position themselves in the margins of architectural culture, touching upon emerging and critical topics. Under the epithet of Selim, we aim to instigate projects with alternating cultural approaches with our publications, exhibitions, designs, displays and items - often occurring outside of a white-box setting. They regularly think about collections, otherness, mondialite as well as the beat of urbanity, the avant-garde and the varied modernities.

Mika Savela graduated as an architect from the Aalto University in Finland. He has practiced professionally in urban design and architecture, as well as in more cross-disciplinary forms of design, editing, publishing and curating. He has taught at the Aalto University as well as CUHK. He was appointed as Curator / Mentor of MOP Contemporary Art Prize 2015, and a Mellon Researcher 2016-17 at the Canadian Centre for Architecture.
