Maja Ivanic is an architect who graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana in 1995. Since 2013, she has been the director of the architectural gallery Dessa in Ljubljana. Between 2005 and 2010 she served as the editor-in-chief of the architectural magazine Hise. Since 2008, she has been the president of the organizing committee for the international architectural conference Piran Days of Architecture and Piranesi Award, and since 2011 she has been the president of the Union of Architects of Slovenia. In 2014 she was one of the commissars of Slovene exhibition at 14th International Architectural Biennale in Venice. Since 2014, she has been a member of the Advisory Committee of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award.
