Johann Otto von Spreckelsen (May 4th 1929 - March 16th 1987) was an architect from Denmark who studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen. From1978 to 1987 he served as the academy's director. Spreckelsen is most well known for his design of the "Grande Arche de la Defense" in Paris. Spreckelsen died during the construction of the Arch which was finished by co-architect Paul Andreu.
