With the InterAction Arts Project was able to realise part of his ideas for the Fun Palace, a very influential architectural concept which was ultimately shelved. The InterAction Centre building constituted an open framework into which modular, pre-fabricated elements can be inserted and removed according to need. The InterAction Project itself was discontinued in the 1990s. In an unprecedented move he persuaded English Heritage not to list the building in north London, supporting its demolition on the ground that something better could be put in its place. The demolition was carried out in 2003.
