STUDYO initiated as a collaboration between STUDYO Cologne hosted by Aysin Ipekci and various project cooperations in and across town (Johannesburg, Shanghai, Istanbul, Jerusalem, Beijing) and established as STUDYO ARCHITECTs in 2008.

The office is interested in exploring the possibilities of CROSS-BORDER design fostered by its special location as well as former experiences. The emphasis during this process lies in finding and blending essential spatial elements. TANGIBLE AND LUCID in between the two magnetic fields of a most clear and precise idea and the absolute wish to be touched and lived in. Materials and abstract thoughts contribute to the design in equal strength. Projects are CUSTOM-MADE exactly for one place. The belief in urbanistic relevance of an object, atmospherical input as well as specific factors like geographical, social, econonomic and cultural are taken into account during the approach of a design.

Aysin Ipekci has been educated in Germany, RWTH Aachen. Graduated from Architecture Studies in Aachen in 2000 [Dipl. Ing.] Since 2000 freelance architect working for various architectural firms in Cologne 2000/01, Tokyo SANAA Architects 2002. Currently in Cologne, Istanbul.
