Peter Paul Schweger was born in Hungary in 1935. He studied at the Technical University Bu­da­pest and the ETH Zurich where he graduated in 1959.

Thereafter he worked for several architecture practices in Zurich. After winning a competition for the design of a school in Hamburg, he moved there and cooperated with the Hamburg architect Heinz Graaf. In 1968 they formed a partnership which continued until Graaf's death in 1980. In 1987 Scheger changed the name of the practice into Schweger + Partner and in 2008 to Schweger Associates Architects. From 1972 to 2000 he was also a professor for construction an design at the University Hannover.
