Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, born in 1971 and 1976 in Quimper, France, studied at the Ecole Nationale des Arts Decoratifs in Paris and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts at Cergy Pontoise. Ronan started working alone after completing his training, assisted by his brother, who was still in training.

Since 1999, the two brothers operate as equal partners a design studio in Paris. Their work ranges from small everyday objects to architectural projects. They have been working together for about ten years now. Their collaboration is a permanent dialogue nourished by their distinct personalities and a shared notion of diligence with the intention to reach more balance and fineness.

They design for manufacturers, namely Vitra, Kvadrat, Magis, Kartell, Established and Sons, Ligne Roset, Axor, Alessi, Issey Miyake, Cappellini, Mattiazzi and more recently Flos and Mutina. At the same time, they maintain an experimental activity which is essential to the development of their work at Galerie kreo, Paris, where four exhibitions of their designs have been held between 2001 and 2010. They also embark on occasional architectural projects such as the Maison flottante ("Floating House") in 2006 or the Camper stores in Paris and Copenhagen and the Casa Camper Hotel's restaurant, Dos Palillos, in Berlin.
