


Helmut Jahn (born January 4th, 1940 in Nuremberg, Germany) is an American architect of German origin. He studied at the Technische Universitat Munich where he graduated in 1965. One year later he went to Chicago where he enrolled at the Illinois Institute of Technology as a postgraduate. There he got to know Ludwig Mies van der Rohe who strongly influenced him. In 1967 he joined the architecture practice C. F. Murphy Associates which became Murphy Jahn in 1981.
