Gino Valle

Gino Valle was an architect and designer. His first artistic experience is not related to architecture but to painting. During World War II, he was taken prisoner and interned in a transit camp in Germany. He attended the University Institute of Architecture of Venice, where he graduated in 1948.

She gets numerous scholarships abroad including the Fulbright at Harvard Graduate School of Design in 1951. The first teaching experience at the international school of CIAM , where he taught from 1952 to 1954. He is a professor at the University Institute of Architecture in Venice from 1954 to 2001, occupying over the years the chair of Geometry Application courses, elements of composition and Composition IV.

During his long professional career he has collaborated with Zanussi, for which he designed the plate refrigerator, and Solari, for which he designed clocks and date stamps. The digital clock with roller mechanism is a historical subject of the twentieth century furniture, also exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. After his death the activities of his office continued by Studio Valle Associati Architects, based in Udine and Milan, directed by his wife Piera Ricci Menichetti and his son Pietro Valle.
