Blok I (20.08.2015) Hollowed out pieces of Block I, the windows installed by the GDR/NVA are removed exept for some of the staircase windows. These elongated, narrow windows are typical features of the Bauhaus style, which the Nazis rejected. The appearance of this part of the architecture of Prora is influenced by the halt in construction due to the beginning of the war in 1939, and the following years. Since the 1950s, Prora has been expanded by the NVA, in order to serve as stalinist military barrack.
