Description Change this

Hotel Olümpia was built in 1980 for the 1980 Summer Olympic Games. It is located in the city centre at Liivalaia street 33 and was opened on April 6th, 1980. The architects of the hotel are Ain Andressoo, Toivo Kallas, Rein Kersten and original interior was designed by Sulev Vahtra. The building has a reinforced concrete structure.

The 84 m high hotel has 28 floors. Originally, the hotel had 405 rooms, a restaurant, cafés and bars. Today, the building has been renovated. It houses a Radisson Blu Hotel and has 390 rooms. The building is in stark contrast to the surrounding environment by its size and modernist style. The architectural concept involves simple geometric shapes and beautiful articulation. The dark windows of the building and the light façade are in proper balance.
