Onurcan Cakir was born in Istanbul and now lives in Izmir, which is an Aegean city of Turkey. He has graduaded from architecture department of Istanbul Technical University. He has finished his master studies about architectural acoustics at ITU - Environmental Control and Building Technology and at Vienna University of Technology - Building Science and Technology. He is a PhD candidate at the Izmir Institute of Technology - Architecture. His study topics are acoustic comfort, room acoustics, noise control and soundscapes. He has taken part on many scientific conferences about architecture and acoustics. He has won several national architecture competitions and his built work Barbaros House which consists of pure geometric forms composed by local stone and exposed concrete, has been selected for Turkey's Architecture Anthology 2015.
